Are the PicoPLEX WGA and GOLD kits compatible with the higher number of cells - > 100 cells?
We have successfully tested the PicoPLEX GOLD with 100 cells (~600 pg), but the goal was to make it work with 1-5 cells.
So, all reaction optimizations were done to amplify a single cell genome. So, higher than recommended inputs are possible for Picoplex kits, but excessive use of template will defeat the purpose of a low-input chemistry.
We have not tested the PicoPLEX kits with 1ng of DNA.
