RNAlater is not compatible with the SMARTer Stranded Total RNA-Seq Kit v2 - Pico cDNA synthesis, since RNAlater denatures proteins. If cells or RNA were preserved in the RNAlater, RNA has to be purified for compatibility with the SMARTer Stranded Total RNA-Seq Kit v2 - Pico cDNA synthesis.
